Rayne Foundation

We look for creative ways of tackling entrenched social issues through the arts, health and wellbeing.
Eligibility: The Rayne Foundation is an independent funder which makes grants to charitable and not-for-profit organisations across the UK. We are especially interested in the arts, mental health and later life.
Funding Activity: We support projects that can be replicated and led by people with vision. We particularly welcome applications addressing our areas of special interest, within our broader criteria.
Grant Range: £10,000 – £20,000
Bruce Wake Charitable Trust
The Trust was generously instigated and endowed by the late Bruce Wake who was himself wheelchair bound as a result of motor neurone disease before his untimely death in 1992 at 45 years of age. His aim was to encourage and assist the disabled to participate in and enjoy leisure pursuits.
Eligibility: The Trustees will consider grant applications related to the provision of leisure activities for the disabled but favour particularly applications whereby the potential beneficiaries meet one or all of the following criteria:
Funding Activity:
- The potential beneficiaries are physically disabled wheelchair users – unable to raise the required funds
- Improved access for wheelchair users is proposed
- A sporting or leisure activity involving disabled wheelchair users is proposed
Grant Range: Discretionary
The Field Family Trust
For over two hundred years Pothecary Witham Weld inc. Haslam & Payne Solicitors has been helping individuals, businesses and charities with whatever life brings. We are the local solicitors with a big heart, providing prompt, friendly and cost effective legal services
Eligibility: Grants are given to registered local charities operating in the West Midlands and London within the boundaries of the M25.
Funding Activity: The Trustees’ interests lie with projects related to vulnerable young people between the ages of 13-25 and the Elderly.
The Trustees are happy to consider applications for a wide variety of purposes, such as outreach, engagement, equipment, furnishings, running costs, helplines. In regards to projects targeting vulnerable young people, the Trustees have a special interest in supporting NEET youth and in the prevention of young people from offending as well as in the integration/rehabilitation of ex-offenders. Grants to cover the cost of buildings are not considered. However, furnishings, equipment and alterations to existing buildings to comply with health and safety regulations are favoured.

Millward Trust
The Millward Charitable Trust is a UK-based charity that makes grants to organizations involved with community buildings, social welfare projects, the performing arts, medical research, and animal welfare.
The trust can apply income generated from the trust fund and capital of the trust fund to charitable purposes at the trustees’ discretion.
Eligibility : England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales
Funding Activity: Arts audience, Education and learning, Supporting recreational activities, Community cohesion, Young people, Older people, People with disabilities, Mental/physical health, Areas of low cultural engagement
Grant Range: Between £1,000 – £20,000
Henry Smith Charity – Strengthening Communities

The Henry Smith Charity aims to use its resources to help people and communities at a time of need and to bring about positive change. We achieve this by funding organisations that work with people to reduce social and economic disadvantage.
Eligibility: Running costs grants to support the work of small, grass roots, community based organisations working in the most deprived areas of the UK.
Grant Range: £20,000 – £500,000 between 1 – 3 years
The Paul Hamlyn Foundation – The Youth Fund (UK)
The Youth Fund supports organisations whose main purpose is working with and for young people (aged 14-25) who face complex transitions to adulthood.
Eligibility and Funding Activity: We provide core funding for organisations that:
- Seek to sustain, prepare to grow, or grow impact with and for young people.
- Put young people at the centre in terms of power, voice and agency – as part of an asset-based approach, starting with recognising and building on young people’s strengths and potential.
- Aim to achieve wide impact for young people (for example, going beyond direct delivery and focusing on systemic or structural change).
- Are committed to continuous improvement in asset-based approaches to working with and for young people.
- Support young people who are facing complex transitions, challenges and barriers to accessing support and opportunities. Particularly young people who are socially excluded or marginalised; whose experiences can be hidden or less well known; and whose voices are often erased or ignored.
Grant Range: £50,000 – £150,000 for up to 3 years
